  • We need you to be allies in this battle against sexual assault. 
  • We need your voices to challenge negative attitudes that say: 'sexual assault is a women's issue. It doesn't affect me'. 
  • We need you to reject with us, messages that say: 'she deserved it' or 'she was asking for it'. No one ever asks for or deserves to be sexually assaulted.

Paul Richards from AASAS couldn't have said it better: 

“If we keep thinking about the sexual abuses and sexual assaults committed by men as a 'women’s issue', we’re not going to do much about truly preventing that violence. The women you care about--and your kids--should live and grow up in a society where male violence against women is not acceptable. Not legally, not morally, not socially."

Thank you to Sexual Assault Voices of Edmonton who launched the original "Don't Be That Guy" campaign in November 2010. 

SAVE considerately allowed us to reproduce and carry forward the message of consent, and has been a significant model for the creation and promotion of the SAV Calgary campaign.

Together we're raising awareness about sexual violence, challenging myths, fighting victim blaming, and standing in solidarity with survivors.  

We too dream of a world without sexual assault!
